memms Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Information we collect

When you use memms we ask for your name and cell phone number. We use this inside the app, in notification text messages and for authenticating your identity to log you into your account.

Like most websites on the Internet, we collect non-personal information that your web browser makes available: your browser type, the link that linked to memms, your city, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information for research to understand how our users on average use memms and how we can make it better.

We don’t share this information or your data or use it for any other purpose (except to comply with a subpoena under the law.)

We will not rent or sell this information or your data to anyone.

A cookie is a small amount of data memms saves on your computer. We use the cookie to recognize you when you visit memms in the future. The cookie contains an encrypted, anonymised user ID. memms reads the user ID, matches it with the ID stored in our database, and recalls your name, email, colour and recently uploaded designs from our database. Your personal information is not stored on your computer in the cookie. No other websites are able to access the memms cookie.

If you dislike this, your browser has a function to clear cookies— if you do that, memms won’t be able to recognize your computer in the future.

Who can see your events, photos and videos

Anybody with a link to your event will be able to see all event posts, including photos and videos. You event will not be indexed by Google, Yahoo or other search engines. Event URLs are randomly generated to prevent visitors from guessing event numbers or any other identifier.

All photos and videos that are added to an event will be visible to all visitors with the event url.

Who can see your phone number

Your phone number is only available to yourself and the event creator. Since we do not currently allow users to add a name, username or any kind of identifier, we use fake names to identify users. The event creator, though, has the ability to see which phone numbers submitted the posts.

Terms of your using our service

By visiting memms, you (and your company) agree to all we'll mention below. (If you don't agree, you shouldn't use this site.)

As mentioned, we claim no intellectual property over the photos or videos added to memms. In extension, we hold no responsibility for determining the proper ownership or proper use of the photos or videos added. All liabilties about these photos and videos rest with the people who've added them. When you add photos or videos, you agree and promise us that the photos and videos do not violate any laws, rules, regulations, or rights of others. memms assumes no responsibility for determining who does or doesn't have such authority. By using us, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless for the use, claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses of any designs; and any breaches, infringements, misappropriations, or law violations that come from them.

We reserve the right to refuse service if you add photos or videos that are offensive, violate laws, or advocate illegal actvities.
